Set up in 1963, the Library has been preserving and developing culturally valuable encyclopaedic and specialised scientific collections published in the country and abroad, on all types of reference formats, in compliance with the curricula and with the research and cultural programmes.
The main users of the library are undergraduates, graduates, professors, researchers, as well as other categories of readers from the university or outside of it. The main objective of the department is to support the training-educational process by providing information services solicited by the “customers”-users.
In order to identify and collect the necessary bibliographical references, one can access the on-line catalogue or go to the traditional reference system that comprises data on about 300 thousand books, journals and other types of documents. Additionally, based on the contracted subscriptions, the users of the Academic Library can also benefit from free access to numerous national and international databases.
Apart from these opportunities, our team of professionals provides information/research services, methodological guidance, bibliographical information/research, interlibrary loans, as well as access to national and international online information resources. At present, the Library encompasses five reading rooms, an Internet access hall and a loan service hall.
